This page explains what AionJanis's BDO Loot Tracker (“the app”) keeps on your PC, what it sends online and why, and how this website handles your visit. The app and site are run by the BDO Loot Tracker team (“we”, “us”).
The short version
- No accounts, no analytics, no ads.
- Your sessions stay on your PC. We can't see them.
- The app goes online for prices, updates, spot data and gear info, never to send your sessions.
- Diagnostics leave your PC only if you share them yourself.
- This website sets no cookies and loads no trackers.
What stays on your PC
Everything the app records is saved on your own computer, and none of it is uploaded:
- Settings, including anything you enter, like a character name, family fame, AP/DP and favourite spots.
- Your sessions: every run, its drops and silver, plus your goals, materials and gear. If you import a Garmoth build, its character name and build code are saved with that gear.
- Logs that help with troubleshooting. During a session this includes a full-screen log noting which window is in front (its title and what kind of window it is), to diagnose full-screen and minimise problems.
- Debug recordings, on by default: images of the drop-log areas the app reads, kept for your last 2 runs. Turn them off, or delete them, in Settings → Files & diagnostics.
While tracking, the app reads only your drop logs, plus the Get-All loot window when you're hunting. Setup looks at your full screen once, with Interface Edit Mode open, to find those areas, and doesn't save it.
The app keeps its data in %LOCALAPPDATA%\BDOLootTracker-Data. The Reveal buttons in Settings → About & updates open it. Uninstalling leaves this folder so a reinstall keeps your history; delete it to remove everything.
When the app goes online
These are the services the app contacts. Like any internet request, each one sees your IP address and a basic app or browser identifier.
- GitHubgithub.com
- Checks for updates each time the installed app starts or you press Check for updates, and downloads an update when you choose to. Downloads the hourly price list for your market region. The update check is handled by the app's update library, which may include the version you have and a random install ID that isn't linked to you.
- arsha.ioapi.arsha.io
- Market prices for items the hourly list doesn't cover, when a session starts, changes spot or ends, and when you price gear or refresh Top Spots. Sends item IDs and your market region.
- Pearl Abyss markettr-trade.blackdesert.pearlabyss.com
- Used instead of arsha.io, and only if your market region is Turkey / MENA. Sends item IDs.
- Garmothgarmoth.com
- Community spot data when you press Refresh in Top Spots. Your build, when you import one, using the build code you paste. Gear icons.
- BDO Codexbdocodex.com
- Gear names, stats and enhancement caps for pieces the app hasn't seen before, when you add or view gear. Sends item IDs. If an icon is missing, the app downloads the image BDO Codex lists for it.
Apart from a Garmoth build code you choose to import, no session history, character name or other personal details are sent to any of them. They have their own privacy policies.
Some buttons open pages in your web browser instead, like our Discord or a goal's guide on Black Desert Foundry or bdolytics. Those visits are between you and that site.
OBS overlays
The OBS Browser Source feature is off until you turn it on. It then serves the app's overlay images to OBS on your own PC. The option for a second PC makes them reachable on your home network, protected by a random key. Nothing is sent to us.
Diagnostics you choose to share
Settings → Files & diagnostics → Export Diagnostics… creates a zip file on your PC. Nothing is sent anywhere until you share it yourself, usually by posting it in our Discord. The zip contains:
- Your settings file, including any character name you entered. Folder paths show
%USERPROFILE%instead of your Windows user name, your Steam account number and OBS key are hidden, and a tester code shows only your tester number. - The session's details and the app's logs. In the full-screen log, only the game's and the tracker's own windows keep their titles; any other window shows just what kind of window it was.
- Crops and sample frames of the drop-log areas, and any F12 screenshots you add.
You can open the zip to check it before sharing, and send it to the team in a direct message instead of a public channel.
We use diagnostics only to find and fix recognition problems, and we don't share them with anyone else. Crops of game artwork from them, like item icons and drop-log lines, may become part of the app's recognition data or tests; they show the game's interface, not you. Ask and we'll delete our copies. You can delete your own Discord posts at any time.
This website
- No cookies, analytics, ads or trackers. Fonts, images and videos are served from this site.
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub records visitors' IP addresses to keep the service secure; see GitHub's privacy statement.
- The latest-release strip and the What's New window load release notes from GitHub while you browse, and the app downloads come from GitHub too.
- Your browser remembers your NA/EU choice for the boss timer, and keeps the release notes for the rest of your visit. Both stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
Discord
Our community lives on Discord, which is governed by Discord's privacy policy. Like any server, we see what you post there or send us directly.
Children
The app and site aren't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Your choices
Everything the app stores is on your PC, so you can view or delete it at any time. The only personal data we could hold is what you send us, such as a diagnostics file or a Discord message. Wherever you live, you can ask us what we have and ask us to delete it, and we will. If you're in the EU or UK, we handle a file you send us because you chose to send it and because we have a legitimate interest in fixing the app, and you can also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If this page changes, the date at the top will show it, and we'll announce bigger changes in Discord. If we ever add accounts, analytics or ads, this page will be updated before that happens.
